In 2011 the European Commission established 29 April as the European Day of Solidarity between Generations. The aim of the initiative is to promote intergenerational communication and understanding as well as to endorse the age-friendly campaign within the European Union.

The Volunteer Centre in Zamość celebrates this special day for the third time. This year our senior citizens met with the representatives of a youth volunteer group in the “Aspirant” restaurant. The meeting was jointly financed by the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” and The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy as a part of a public service commissioned to the Volunteer Centre in Zamość.
