Prospects for EVZ’s humanitarian involvement in Poland 2012-09-15 , conferences

“Prospects for EVZ’s humanitarian involvement in Poland” is the name of a conference organised by the German foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future”. The conference’s main goal was to discuss the following issues: Which groups of the victims of Nazism are still living in Poland? What does their financial situation look like? Who offers them help? Which areas are lacking? What solutions are essential for non-governmental organisations to counteract such shortages?

The conference was attended by the representatives of four German and seven Polish organisations carrying out projects supported financially by the foundation. Krystyna Rybińska-Smyk, the vice-chairperson of the Volunteer Centre in Zamość, talked about the specific situation of the victims from Zamojszczyzna and their needs for the years 2012-2015. The vice-chairperson also met with the project’s partners: Jost Rebentisch from Cologne and Dariusz Pawłoś from the Foundation “Polish-German Reconciliation.”
