Field trip in Belżec 2013-11-15 , courses
As a part of the cooperation between the Volunteer Centre in Zamość and the Museum – Memorial Site in Bełżec, our volunteers who record war-time recollections had an opportunity to participate in a unique field trip. They visited the Museum of Jews and the historical exhibition as well as learned how the new relics found upon the site of the former death camp are registered and restored. Their guides were Ewa Koper and Jarosław Joniec, the museum assistants. The volunteers also did some physical work raking leaves and collecting branches and acorns from the site of “Europe’s largest grave.”
The field trip was organised by Krystyna Rybińska-Smyk, the coordinator of the “Still needed” project.
