This year, Kazimierz Dolny and Lublin were the cities visited by members of the Senior Community Station within the framework of the project co-financed by the “Re­mem­bran­ce, Re­spon­si­bi­li­ty and Fu­tu­re” fo­un­da­tion (EVZ). The trip took place on 5 and 6 July.

On the first day, the schedule included a cruise on the Vistula, a trip to Janowiec on a stylized narrow-gauge train, a tour of Firlej’s castle ruins as well as a visit to a nineteenth-century manor house and an open-air museum. The day ended with an integrational meeting. The meeting was held in the place of accommodation after dinner.

On the second day, the seniors visited Kazimierz Old Town with all its attractions. They went in Melex electric vehicles to the Root Tunnel as well as the Jewish Cemetery and its famous Wailing Wall. After lunch eaten in a historical restaurant, “Stara Łaźnia,” they went to Lublin, where they visited the castle with a beautiful Jagiellonian chapel and they took a stroll in the Old Town. “The Master and Margarita,” a performance based on M. Bulgakov’s prose and put on at the Juliusz Osterwa Theatre, was the main attraction of the evening. This magnificent adaptation of the famous novel captivated the seniors and the volunteers.

All the participants, who were in jubilant mood, returned to Zamość after midnight.
