EVZ Seminar in Warsaw 2014-09-28
Specialist seminar in Warsaw 2013-03-04
Ewa Szczepańska and Krystyna Rybińska-Smyk were invited to a three-day specialist seminar “The victims of National Socialism in Poland – their life today” organised by the Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future” (Stiftung EVZ) in Berlin. The invitation was issued in connection with an on-going four-year-old project carried out by the Volunteer Centre in Zamość (VCZ) and whose main focus is the welfare of the victims of the Third Reich.
“Prospects for EVZ’s humanitarian involvement in Poland” is the name of a conference organised by the German foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future”. The conference’s main goal was to discuss the following issues: Which groups of the victims of Nazism are still living in Poland? What does their financial situation look like? Who offers them help? Which areas are lacking? What solutions are essential for non-governmental organisations to counteract such shortages?
„A model joint system of support for the victims of the Third Reich of Zamojszczyzna and Cologne” is the name of the conference that took place on 31 May in „Okrąglak.” The guests included the representatives of the local authorities and non-governmental organisations as well as chairpersons of combatants’ associations, principals of educational institutions, teachers, the project’s beneficiaries and volunteers. The conference was also attended by VCZ’s partners: Jost Rebentisch and Michael Teupen from Cologne and Jakub Deka from the Foundation “Polish-German Reconciliation.”
